Discovering Zenith

Back in the 80’s my good friend James Good introduced me to a game that was to occupy far too many of my teenage evenings. One reason I spent so much time playing it was that the game ran pretty slowly on the Commodore 64 the other was that it was one of those games that manages to create a strong atmosphere that draws your in to it’s alternative reality. Of course, the fact that it had 10,000 levels to work through also helped!
Sentinel was originally written by Geoff Crammond of REVS and Grand Prix fame and was totally different from everything else around at the time. Sentinel was one of the first “virtual reality” style games.
Blazer tricks and tips

Palm’s Blazer is far from everything you’d hope a web browser would be and it looks extremely unlikely that the situation is going to get any better any time soon. There are, however, a number of tricks and tips that can improve your user-experience.
This article contains information about using Optimised mode, Fast mode, disabling javascript, using Google’s mobile search, compressing webpages using transcoder websites, general Blazer maintenance, offline content and what to do when Blazer freezes while trying to access a website.
Website makeover

With the rain pouring down outside and a few moments to myself I thought it might be nice to give the website a make over after all I’ve never been that satisfied with the old look as it was the product of necessity and limited time. This time however it would be nice to sort out some of the problems.
So what were the objectives of this re-design? The first objective was to simplify the layout and reduce the overall screen clutter and reorganise some of the sections.

Palm TX hotsync and reset nightmares
Posted on December 20, 2007 in Palm. - No comments
Over the last few days my Palm TX has become increasingly bothersome. I’ve not had the “continuous” soft-resets experienced by others – in fact, until recently it’s been remarkably stable with the only application really giving me problems being Blazer (and even that was more to do with my decision to revert to the previous version of Graffiti.
Now, I’m experiencing problems hot-syncing and even if I do manage to hot-sync successfully the TX does a reset when it gets to the “cleaning up stage”.
Palm Cradle Kit

Recently while sorting out boxes of old computer junk I came across my old Palm III and it’s cradle. It was like bumping into an old friend and I wondered if getting a Cradle for my TX would improve my “user experience”. On an impulse I placed an order on-line.
My initial experience with the Palm Cradle Kit has left me feeling rather disappointed and the more I’ve tried to use it, the more disappointed I’ve become. The Palm Cradle Kit delivered little satisfaction.
