My home page has moved to here and there are some new posts!
Introduction
Welcome to my Commodore 64 website. Here you'll find some information about what I did on the platform back in the heady 80's and 90's as well and some clues to what I'm up to now!
News
September'05Wouldn't you know what... I've only gone and drawn a bloody cow!
After a 13 year absence from the scene, I've started playing around with those odd-shaped pixels again! You can download a 64 prg file here. There's an entry here on CSDb for it too.
Now, for some bizarre reason - (and from what he said, I really think it was more about notching up another release for Cosine), TMR invited me to join Cosine - and in a moment of weakness I agreed! So, I must be a real scener now I'm in a group!?
Following much encouragement (bordering on harassment by TMR on #lemon64 I got down to learning to code properly by starting to put a simple little game together. You can download the latest work in progress version here.
We're all still waiting impatiently for Jeff to hurry and and finish coding his new music editor - and sneaky previews that he's shown me look really nice! The worrying thing is that it might encourage me to create some more appauling tunes! - I'll do my best to resist!
Besides, Jeff needs to get things finished as there is the music for the game to do! *grin*.
June'05 - You can now read an interview that I've done for the C64 Headquarters. The interview is here.
It's been an interesting month so far. I've been trying to back into coding again. I've been both surprised and disappointed at the amount of stuff that I've remembered (or haven't). I've have managed to do something though which may lead to something - you never know! Hopefully I'll have some "work in progress" previews up at some point.
Searching though the discs I've managed to recover, I've found some unfinished demo parts that might be of interest to some. You'll find these here at the bottom of this page.
May'05 - Well, after an extended break from the C64 scene for about 13 years I'm back(ish!). Of course I've forgotten a lot so it'll take a while to get back into the swing of things! Although all the guys from #lemon64 are making things easier!
I also thought it would be nice to see if I could finish off some of the things that I started all those years ago. Remember Boris Vallejo pictures were all the rage back then, and here was the last one I started. Incidently it's also the last every thing I did before packing away the old C64 for so long...

Enchantment - Preview only!
The Graphics
All these graphics were created using a fantastic paint program called Artist 64. I'm always surprised that not more people have heard about and used this program. I suspect that as it's not so user friendly with a joystick (there are no keyboard shortcuts) it can be pretty frustrating, but with a NEOS mouse attached, it works like a dream.
It's intesting to see how my style changed as I became more experienced. Some of the early stuff does make me cringe, but it's included here for historical interest! For those of you who are really interested, the dragon is the first picture I did.
The following pictures were all included in "The Bizzness" produced around 1989. There are more details about the demo below.
The following pictures were all done after 1989, culminating in the pictures created for the "Paradise'91" demo produced strangely enough at the end of 1991.
Logos and Fonts
As well as producing full screen multi-colour pictures I also did good smattering of logos and fonts. Some of which are below.

Zzap Vibrants Demo
Paradise'91
Substantial parts of the demo were coded while staying with Deek in Glasgow. (Now that was an experience!)
Unfinished Works
Beast - More on this later!
Rotation - This was an interesting little experiment that never saw the light of day (which is a bit of a shame as I remember it took me a little while to do.) It's very unfinished, but a reasonable start at a char plot routine. Download Here
Crusty Wolloper - This is a perfect example of what can happen on a boring weekend! One of the many visits to Falcon's place and we end up digitising my silly mug. This was the pre-cursor to the likes of the digi-guitar part of Paradise'91 and the Vibrants ZZAP! demo. Download Here
Early Demo Preview - This simple demo part is an early example of something I did just after joining Genesis Project. I can't remember if it was ever used although I'm sure that the picture of woman was using somewere or other! Download Here
Follow Me - This is an little animation test for some graphics I did for a demo that Falcon was doing. The jaw of the skeleton is animated. Download Here
