A sign that Doctor Who is back to it's best?

Over heard while out shopping today:

“If you don’t behave you’ll have to watch Doctor Who tonight.”

“But mum, I don’t like Doctor Who – it’s scary!”

Kids scared of Doctor Who? Surely a sign that at least something is right with the world.

Lego Tardis

Lego Tardis

The BBC have just announced that the new face of Doctor Who will be Matt Smith, once David Tennant finishes his tenure at the end of the year. It was while watching the announcement that I thought about building a little Lego Tardis for my young son. He was spoilt over Christmas and got lots of Lego, and was very excited about Doctor Who.

I picked up the phone and dialled the number. “Welcome to the automated…” Sigh. I knew from experience this was going to be bad. The voice continued, ‘please listen to all the options before making your selected and have your consignment number handy.’

Consignment number? What bloody consignment number. A quick check of the slip revealed nothing, no number except the phone number. I continued with reckless abandon.
